We are excited that you are a part of our Breeze Hill Family!

We are looking forward to a great Year! To ensure your child’s safety at Breeze Hill we have a couple of reminders:

    • We are a closed campus for all students. This means that any adult entering the campus will need to scan their district ID Badge or sign in at the front office with a valid reason to enter the campus.
    • Breeze Hill staff and our student safety patrol are present in every student area to walk and guide students to their waiting areas or classrooms.
    • Another way to ensure your child’s safety is by dropping off your student no earlier than 7:30 due to no supervision. Checking out your student  Students will be released ONLY to the parent/guardian on file. If you send a representative to check out your student early, you must provide written authorization to the office stating your request. A form is available in the office. The representative must be listed on the student's emergency card. We will release the student after photo identification is provided. Students may not be checked out of school after 12:20 on Monday and 1:45 pm Tuesday through Friday. All students must be picked up within 30 minutes after dismissal. TK and Kindergarten students should be picked up within 15 minutes after dismissal.

Parking Lot Information (Updated July 2018)

We would like to thank everyone for their support during arrival and dismissal and for your patience while we make several safety changes in the parking lot.  Our traffic support has also returned in the afternoon and we have included some reminders below of the normal arrival/dismissal procedures.

We understand that our parking lot is extremely busy, but with these procedures in place, our parking lot does clear of lines fairly quickly. Please help us do this by following the directions of our traffic support personnel. Our traffic support does keep open areas of the parking lot for the safety of cars and students. Their job is to also keep the normal traffic flowing on Melrose Way. As you enter the parking lot, please do not leave your vehicle in fire lanes. The only fire lane that is open for traffic pick up is the bus lane. We do have 2 busses that pick up students, so we do have that lane open once the bus has arrived. Left turns into the parking lot for vehicles traveling East on Melrose Way are not allowed during dismissal time unless directed by the traffic safety personnel.  This allows for the traffic to flow from the parking lot to the corner light. The fastest and safest way to enter the school is entering from traveling West on Melrose Way and making a right into the parking lot. The only line of cars making a right to enter the parking lot will be the line from the curb. Through traffic will not be allowed to enter making a right into the parking lot, but must continue West on Melrose Way unless the traffic safety personnel directs you to turn when it is safe.

Please remember that there are three open lanes through the parking lot and that students should wait in one of the three areas adjacent to each lane. Lane one is the lane closest to the school and is also used for the bus. This first lane will be closed until the bus has entered the lane. Once the bus has entered the lane and pulled forward, parents are welcome to enter the first lane to pick up students.  Until the bus leaves the first lane, three dividers will be removed so parents in lane one can temporarily move into lane two. Once the bus has left lane one, the dividers will be put into place again and all traffic in lane one will then exit to the right as usual. There will be a crossing guard in each lane, and students should wait in one of three areas. If you are using the first lane, your child will line up against the fence. Parents using the center lane will pick up their students in the center fenced area. Parents wishing to use the upper parking lot will be able to pick up their students from the upper square fenced area. As parents exit the parking lot, the right lane will exit to the right and the left lane will exit to the left.  We also ask for all parents and students to use the crosswalk when crossing the parking lots, at the stop sign at the top of the parking lot and at the light at Melrose and Melrose Way.

If you have any questions, suggestions or concerns regarding the arrival or dismissal procedures, please contact us. Thank you again for your support!

    Parent Portal Accounts are required

All families will need to utilize a parent portal account this year. Start of the year packets are now accessible online through a parent portal account. Once you have created a parent portal account, you must complete the "Data Confirmation" section under the student information page. This will allow you to print out a student emergency card instead of completing it by hand. All students must have the "Data Confirmation" section completed.  Parent portal information for creating an account at home can be accessed by clicking here

    About Breeze Hill

Breeze Hill Elementary School opened in 1992 in southern Vista with a vision of setting the highest possible academic and personal expectations for students. The goal of educators there is for each student to experience a sense of pride through positive accomplishments, mastery of grade-level standards, and development of valuable relationships as we prepare them for a successful future in the 21st century. The school was awarded the California Distinguished School Award in 2000 and 2004.

The school staff works collaboratively with families to ensure a strong community connection. Parents participate in a variety of ways, including through the PTA, School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Committee and by volunteering in the classroom. Throughout the year the PTA raises money and hosts events which help strengthen the programs and community at the school. Some of these events include the annual fall carnival, family movie nights, book fair and literacy night, school talent show and Jog-a-Thon.

The Breeze Hill school community takes pride in the numerous opportunities provided for students.  The Breeze Hill Garden Learning Center has been recognized by the National Wildlife Foundation as a “Schoolyard Habitat” and by as a Monarch Butterfly Waystation.  Our garden is a valuable and scenic venue for teaching students about the wonders of our natural environment, as well as the life cycles of native flora and fauna.

Breeze Hill serves a diverse population of 780 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.  There are 33 classroom teachers, and a number of certificated staff who work collaboratively to educate all students. Staff members are role models of courtesy, respect, hard work, and personal achievement.
